THE ISLE of Anglesey Flower Club enjoyed a spectacular James Bond themed floral art demonstration by a National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) member last week.

The group, based in Benllech, were joined by Nigel Whyles, who travelled from Telford to host the unusual event on Tuesday, June 19.

Entitled 'Shaken Not Stirred', Mr Whyles' demonstration captured some of James Bond's famous escapades through presenting flowers from exotic locations around the globe.

He used 'Bird of Paradise' flowers for 'Goldfinger' with tropical foliage and gold leaves. Heavenly white lilies entangled in a moon-shaped crescent depicted 'Moonraker'.

Of course, James Bond's special 'shaken not stirred' Martini wasn't forgotten about either as sparkling beaded grass, white roses and lush greenery arranged in a tall martini glass brought 'Diamonds are Forever' to the table (pictured above).

All of Mr Whyles' creations were also accompanied by the famous musical scores from each of the Bond films depicted.

Speaking after the event, Jenny Markanday from the Isle of Anglesey Flower Club said: "It was a delightful evening of diving into the world of James Bond.

"We would like to thank Nigel for his fabulous demonstration."

The club lub meets every third Tuesday of each month from February to November for floral art demonstrations, flower arranging workshops and garden visits.
