THE VILLAGE of Deiniolen’s festival week came to an end with a colourful carnival on Saturday afternoon.

After a week of activities which included a 10k race, a tug of war competition and a treasure hunt, several people turned up to show their support for the annual carnival event.

Despite dull weather throughout the day, people of the village and beyond donned their best fancy dress costumes to join in with the fun of the parade.

There were film characters from Jurassic Park and the Flintstones, robots, lego men and S4C characters present as revellers brought the streets of Deiniolen to life.

Plenty of fancy floats were also on show throughout the village as the Deiniolen band led the lively celebrations.

This years carnival queen was Erin Wyn Williams who paraded around the village alongside her attendants on their silver and white float.

Overall, the festival week was a huge success as the people of Deiniolen once again came together in celebration of their village.
