A 22-YEAR-OLD man from Anglesey has been jailed after being convicted of drug driving.

Levi Anthony Thomas, from the Llangefni area, appeared before Llandudno Remand Court on Wednesday after being arrested, he was subject of a warrant from the court following him failing to appear in court previously.

Thomas was convicted of seven charges of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.

This occurred following four separate stops of him driving between January and March this year.

He was sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment, disqualified for three years, given a drug rehabilitation order and ordered to pay £285 in fines and costs.

PC Scott Martin of the Roads Policing Unit said: “This is a timely reminder that our campaign against those who drive under the influence continues.

“So far this year we have made over 650 arrests relating to drink and drug driving. It is disappointing that so many continue to ignore our warnings and get behind the wheel whilst under the influence. Doing this has a significant impact on people; the devastation caused to families following a fatal collision can be immeasurable. Please heed the warning.”
