A 39-year-old Gwynedd man has admitted an attack at a Bangor city centre bus stop.
Sion Derfel Jones, of Penrhyn Terrace, Bethesda, an unemployed stonemason, was alleged to have punched and kicked Richard Morgan, aged 61, in an unprovoked attack.
Jones at Caernarfon crown court pleaded guilty to charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and breaching a criminal behaviour order on April 19.
Simon Mintz, defending, sought a pre-sentence report which would consider whether a more detailed psychiatric assessment should be made. “There are features of this offence which are of great concern,” counsel remarked.
Judge Philip Harris Jenkins remanded Jones in custody until June 11.
A previous court hearing was told Jones claimed he had been buried in the victim’s garden using a JCB.
The defendant had said to Mr Morgan that he “tombed” him, before the attack. Jones was said to have “delusional” beliefs.
