A former pub could be turned into a holiday let.
The Bull Inn on Deiniolen High Street would be transformed into self-catering accommodation, if a planning application submitted to Gwynedd planners is approved.
The design and access statement, accompanying the application, notes: “The premises was formerly a public house with hotel accommodation above and was market for sale for a couple of years with little interest, confirming its lack of sustainability as a public house in this location.
“However, there is a demand for tourist accommodation in the area so it is proposed to convert the property into 100% holiday usage.”
According to the applicants, the building has “begun to fall into disrepair, but the development would provide a “positive contribution” to the area and use local contractors and suppliers.
It adds: “The site is ideally situated for self-catering holiday accommodation and the proposed change of use will make a positive contribution to the local area in terms of economic development and employment.
“It is expected that visitors will generally remain within the surrounding area for the duration of their stay and, consequently, benefit other businesses in the area such as shops, restaurants, pubs and local attractions.”
It's expected that a decision will be made by Gwynedd Council planners over the coming months.
