A motorcyclist seriously injured in a collision on the A487 near Machynlleth on Sunday has died.

Young dad Huw Moss Hughes, 25, from Pwllheli, died from his injuries in hospital in Stoke on Wednesday.

His family have paid tribute to 'a hardworking, fun loving son, partner, father, big brother and friend'.

"We are all heartbroken and devastated following the tragic event on Sunday," said the family tribute.

"Huw was loved by us all and will be very sorely missed.

"He was a proud father to a 6-month-old daughter who he was besotted with.

"Only last year he passed his plastering qualification with distinction and he worked hard for the family building company.

“He enjoyed working out, especially weightlifting.

"He was due to attend the Bodypower event at the NEC this weekend where he had progressed to the National Championship.

"He was so popular amongst all his friends. As a family we were so incredibly proud of Huw and our lives will never be the same without him.”

North Wales Police are investigating the two-vehicle collision which happened shortly after 2pm on the A487 from the Cross Foxes towards Tal y Llyn lake involving two motorcycles.

Mr Hughes was airlifted to hospital in Stoke by air ambulance. The second motorcyclist was unharmed.
