ALL Hawk T1 aircraft have been grounded following the plane crash at RAF Valley.
One crew member died and another was seriously injured after the incident at the Anglesey air base which happened at about 1.30pm on Tuesday, March 20.
Flight Lieutenant David Stark, who managed to eject from the plane, survived but was seriously injured.
The planes have temporarily been grounded as a “precautionary measure” after the incident involved a Hawk T1 from the Red Arrows. The Hawk T2 is not affected.
HAWK T1 aircraft are operated by the RAF (RAFAT, 100 Sqn and the RAF Centre for Aviation Medicine) and the Royal Navy.
According to a spokesperson for the MOD: "The Operating Duty Holders for all Hawk T1 aircraft have currently temporarily suspended Hawk T1 flying as a precautionary measure; this is normal practice.
"This will allow the Duty Holders time to reflect on any emerging evidence that might be relevant to flight safety.
Hawk T1 flying will resume as soon as possible, this will be when we are confident that it is safe to do so."
