BIG, small, real or model, there was something for everyone at the National Slate Museum's recent Model Railway extravaganza.

The annual three-day event, which took place between February 14 and 16, attracted thousands of visitors and enthusiasts to Llanberis.

The free show is a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to get together and enjoy railway displays - including substantial layouts created by well known local railway clubs such as Colwyn Bay.

There were shed-loads of model railway layouts of all shapes and sizes on display - from '00' gauge to the ever popular '32'mm gauge engines.

There was also numerous activities to enjoy including free rides for children on miniature steam engines, as well as daily demonstrations and talks.

Other engines on show included Dorothea, a 'coffee pot' scale model of a type of engine built by De Winton at Caernarfon towards the end of the nineteenth century.

The popular 'train table' or 'test track' also made a return - giving children a chance to bring in their own '00' engines to run on a large layout track.
