NORTH Wales Police are investigating after an Anglesey man was injured in an attack outside a pub in Aberdaron, near Pwllheli.

The incident, near the Ty Newydd Public House, happened at around 9:30pm, on Saturday, September 2, 2017.

Investigating Officer PC Elfyn Hughes, at Pwllheli Police Station, said a 36-year-old Anglesey man was attacked by an unknown man.

"The injuries sustained were serious but fortunately not life threatening or changing.

"Gwyl Pen Draw’r Byd had been held in the village on this day with several hundred attendees.

"Unfortunately the victim was unable to describe his assailant and we’d hoped some witnesses from the many people present may have come forward but unfortunately, and despite enquiries at the scene, that hasn’t been the case and as all other lines of enquiries are exhausted we’re asking for the public’s help”.

PC Hughes added: “At this time the motive of the attack is unknown and we are determined to identify and locate this man for both the local community’s and victims sake as this type of crime is rare in the region but understandably of concern.

"I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident, or indeed knows who may be responsible for this attack to contact police as soon as possible.”
