A MUSEUM and gallery is celebrating its one year anniversary with a variety of activities on Saturday, January 28.

Bangor-based Storiel, which has had over 85,000 visitors in those 12 months since its opening, features historical exhibitions, relating to the history of Bangor.

As well as a variety of fine art, Storiel also provides a gift shop and the Seibiant cafe has also proved popular with visitors.

Mair Tomos Ifans kicks off events with the "Chest of Wonders" at 11am. The chest was designed to celebrate Storiel’s role as a place of collecting stories, memories and memorabilia.

It will be returning to Storiel after being on a journey of collecting stories and items across Gwynedd.

The “Soap, Bubbles and Fun” workshop for families will run from 1pm to 3pm.

A question and answer session about art and conservation with the artist David Woodford and John Harold, Director of Cymdeithas Eryri will be held from 1:30pm to 3pm.

Then, to crown the event, Storiel’s first birthday cake will be shared amongst visitors at the Seibiant café at 3pm.
