A youth pod has opened in Holyhead helping young people work towards their future careers.
Funded by the People’s Health Trust the Mon CF lead project was created following a community consultation where residents said that more was needed for young people in the area. Mon CF then began working with young people in the area to design their perfect youth space.
Mon CF youth team manager Andrew Williams said: “The pod offers free opportunities for young people to pursue interests in various activities such as music, performing, film making and cooking.
“This is a unique project and unlike anything else in the area. Different to a youth club, we operate more as a café where young people can volunteer and make and serve hot and cold snacks to its members. However, some young people just use the space to meet up socially and take advantage of the computers, XBOX, PS4, pool table and cinema room. It really is a diverse place.”
The pod, on Market Street is open to young people year eight school year and above from 3.15 pm until and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
