CHAMPIONS Menai Bridge kept pace with North Wales Premier Division leaders Llandudno with a comfortable seven wicket win over Mochdre.

The home side were at their ruthless best throughout the one sided encounter, a result that leaves them nine points behind the leaders ahead of Saturday’s trip to improving Connah’s Quay.
Conditions made things difficult for the away side as they were put into bat, with openers Alex and Gareth Davies making 13 and 12 before they were sent back to the pavilion by Zach Ringrose and Ashley Wood.
Mochdre skipper Will Evans made just two before becoming Ringrose’s second victim, and the same bowler was on hand to remove the dangerous Matt Humphreys for a duck on his way to superb figures of 5-28 from nine overs.
Wicketkeeper James French was also out after failing to make a single run, and a brace of wickets from Gerallt Roberts (2-11) meant the visitors collapsed to just 64 all out from 28 overs.
Despite losing opener Jack Gower to a Taylor Williams ball for four, the hosts made light work of reaching their target, with Ringrose providing an assured 25no to get them over the line.
Mochdre put up a good fight and took two further wickets in the form of Arwel Thomas (17) and Dion Holden (0), but the home side comfortably reached their target after 21 overs of play.
With six games of the season remaining, Robbie Jones’ side will be hoping to maintain their current form until the end of the campaign and reply on the long time leaders slipping up in one of their remaining six fixtures.
