SUPER Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys and award-winning north Wales folk band 9 Bach are the latest acts to be added to the Festival No.6 line-up.

The Portmeirion festival, which will be headlined by Belle and Sebastian, Grace Jones and Metronomy this year, has announced a host of acts from across the Welsh music scene.

Gruff Rhys will curate a day of film and music based around the 150th anniversary of Welsh settlers arriving in Patagonia. This will include live translations, Q&A sessions a live performances from his soundtrack to the recent film Set Fire to the Stars.

Building on the success of last year, Welsh music specialists Huw Stephens and John Rostron from S?n Festival have curated a bespoke mix of Welsh artists and collaborators.

The acts chosen by them include bands Estrons, Y Pencadlys and Cardiff-born folk singer The Gentle Good.

Also joining the bill is 9 Bach, whose latest album Tincian won Best Album at the prestigious the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, singer-songwriter Yws Gwynedd, formerly of Welsh language three piece Frizbee, music producer, DJ and musician Ifan Dafydd, Y Ffug, Band Pres Llareggub, sets by Nyth DJ’s and folk supergroup Palenco, with many more acts still to be announced.
