THIRTY STAFF from a Menai Bridge book warehouse are waiting to hear on their future after their employer filed for administration.
Columbia Marketing Ltd, who took over Webb’s wholesalers in Four Crosses, Menai Bridge last year, is expected to enter administration this week after a host of financial problems.
Last week, directors filed their intention to appoint administrators, which means that 30 jobs could be under threat.
A spokesperson for Columbia confirmed that a notice of intention to appoint administrators had been filed last week, and this would go ahead unless a rescue package was found.
This is the latest in the long line of financial difficulties which have threatened the warehouse over the past 12 months.
Last year, 85 jobs were saved after Buckingham-based company Columbia Marketing took over from S Webb and Son, after they had been put into administration, which saw a total of 75 redundancies being made.
Webb’s, established in 1928, had been one of the UK’s leading book, toy and gift retailers, while Columbia remains one of the country’s top book wholesalers.
