A BURGLAR who targeted a home in Holyhead has been jailed.

Stuart Parkin, aged 31, of Holyhead, was sentenced at Caernarfon crown court yesterday (Friday, August 28) to 27 months in prison for the burglary, which happened on July 30.

DC Dave Owens, of Llangefni CID, said: "When an individual commits a domestic buirglary and invades the home of a vulnerable person they deserve to be dealth with swiftly and appropriately.

"This type of offence is fortunately rare in the area, and so I welcome the sentence imposed by the court and hope this brings some comfort to the victim, who showed great character and resolve and was able to provide an excellent description that resulted in this man's arrest.

DC Owens said North Wales Police would "relentlessly pursue" individuals who break the law.

He added: "Parkin will now have plenty of time to consider the impact of his actions, and the speed in which Parkin was dealt with demonstrates out continued commitment, under Operation Rackley, to tackle and reduce offences of burglary on Anglesey."
