Two women injured in car crash on Anglesey

TWO women were taken to hospital after a car collision on Anglesey.

Both women had to be cut from their vehicles after the crash two vehicle collision on Gorad Road in Valley at around 2pm today (Tuesday, August 19).

A North Wales Ambulance spokeswoman said: “We were called at 2.07pm to a two-vehicle road traffic collision in the Valley area of Holyhead.

"A paramedic in a rapid response car, a crew in an emergency ambulance and a Wales Air Ambulance attended.

"A woman in her 20s was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, and a woman in her 50s was taken by land ambulance to the same hospital.” 

North Wales Police, along with fire crews from Bangor and Holyhead, also attended the scene.

Firefighters used cutting quipment to free the women from the Vauxhall Corse and Ford Focus.   

The women’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, according to North Wales Wales Ambulance Service.
