FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze that spread across the roofs of three houses in Holyhead.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said 10 people were evacuated from four houses on Ffordd Feurig after crews were called shortly before 10.15pm yesterday (Monday, July 28).

She added: “Firefighters were faced with a well developed fire affecting the roof space of three properties in the terrace.

“Four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to fight the fire and prevent it spreading.

“There was significant damage to the roof of one of the properties.”

Two crews from Holyhead, one from Rhosneigr, one from Llangefni and an aerial ladder platform were called to the fire.

The spokeswoman added: “10 people from four properties within the terrace were evacuated but no one required treatment for any injuries.”

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police have launched a joint investigation.
