Carshalton skipper Matt Elverson admits he will not know what to do with himself this weekend. With the Robins out of the FA cup after a heartbreaking penalty shoot-out defeat at Croydon last weekend, the tall defender admits he will be stuck for ideas.

"Not playing does give that feeling, but I will probably go and watch one of the games in the area," he said.

"Whether it be Woking, Walton or Kingstonian I don't know, but it is disappointing not to be playing in the FA cup."

The Robins' skipper admits there is room for improvement as him and his team-mates look to battle their way up the Ryman Premier League table.

"We have been extre-mely disappointed in recent weeks, especially to lose our unbeaten home record last Friday," said Elverson.

"We were shoddy in the first half, better in the second, and when it was 1-1 we were confident of getting something out of the game.

"Then they scored immediately and added one at the end.

"It was a blow, but we will keep working."

The Robins' defender admits the spirit has remained excellent since the arrival of manager Tony Rains.

"The players work and socialise together, which generates good team spirit.

"Tony has come in with Ricky (Kidd) and they have done well.

"It has only been recently where things on the pitch have been disappointing."

The Robins' next league game is a week tomorrow, when they entertain high-flying Essex outfit Canvey Island.
