THE Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board has launched the second phase of its Appointment Reminder Service.

Following the success of phase one, whereby patients received their appointment reminder by text, phase two will enable patients to receive a voice message to their home telephone number to remind them of their appointment.

Rachel Whitehall, assistant director at Planned Care, said: “If we do not hold an existing mobile phone number for you, or the mobile number on our records is incorrect, we will send a voice message reminder to your home telephone number.

“When you receive an appointment reminder call, you will be greeted in Welsh then English, you will have the option to continue the appointment reminder call in your language of choice.”

The second phase will increase the number of reminders from 10,000 to 30,000 a month.
