A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs after a raid in Bangor.

Police arrested the man, aged 44, after a search at Ffordd y Castell on Maesgeirchen on Wednesday, June 11.

A North Wales Police spokeswoman said: “The search warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act and Police seized a substantial quantity of a substance, believed to be controlled drugs.

"A substantial amount of cash was also recovered during the search.

“A forensic examination of the seized substance will determine exactly what it is.”

The man, who is from the area, has been bailed pending further inquiries.

PC Elwyn Williams, community beat manager for Maesgeirchen, said: "This was an intelligence led operation and conducted as part of our on-going effort to tackle the supply of controlled drugs.

“If anyone has any information about drug supply, or indeed any illegal drugs use we urge them to contact North Wales Police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
