A WEEKEND of activities will mark Holyhead Sea Cadets’ 70th anniversary.
Holyhead Sea Cadets will hold an open weekend on May 17-18 at their unit, TS Prince of Wales, on Newry Beach.
Part of the programme will be the cadets’ first ever reunion.
A spokesman said: “The Holyhead Sea Cadets are hoping to get as many former and current cadets as possible together to meet up, share stories and talk about their experiences as cadets.
“We are also hoping that people will bring along any old sea cadet photos or memorabilia that they may have, so that we can possibly display them during the event.”
The event will include displays from the sea cadets and marine cadets and will also give people the opportunity for people to look around the unit facilities and the newly refurbished annex bunkhouse accommodation, which has recently re–opened, after its renovation.
Other organisations will also be present during the course of the weekend such as the Royal Naval Careers, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the Outdoor Partnership, Facepainters, Porth y Felin Community Partnership and the Rhosneigr Divers, who will give visitors the chance to try out diving in a small pool area.
Anyone who would like to lend photographs for display over the weekend should telephone 01407 764447 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
