MOUNTAIN rescue teams were unable to save a young man who died after a fall on Snowdon on Friday.
Teams from Llanberis Mountain Rescue were sent to reports of a fall in the vicinity of Snowdon at 5.07pm on April 19.
A rescue helicopter from RAF Valley was also despatched to the emergency.
Inspector Brian Kearney, of North Wales Police, said "despite the best efforts of those involved", a 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's next of kin have been informed, and the office of the Coroner for North West Wales has been notified.
