POLICE are investigating an incident after a van driver was seen acting in an unusual manner in Waunfawr recently.

Witnesses were alarmed after an incident involving a middle-aged male driver of a red van, between the Donen Las Forestry and the Chwarel Fawr Quarry area of Waunfawr, sometime between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday, March 14.

The witnesses saw the van pull up, the driver alight and shout back into the direction of the van, before getting back in and driving off towards the Chwarel Fawr Quarry.

Investigating officer PC Matthew Tapping said: “There may well be a perfectly innocent explanation of the van drivers actions so I’d like to hear from the driver himself or anyone who may recognise the van, which was possibly a red Astra van or similar, to contact me”

Anyone with information should contact PC Matthew Tapping on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference RC14038114.
