POLICE investigating an assault on a woman in Bangor have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to question.

DC Arwel Jones said a man approached the woman, aged 18, as she walked home from the Peep nightclub and later assaulted her in a location close to the city centre.

He said: “The young lady was greatly distressed by the incident but has been able to provide a description of her attacker as 18-22 years old, about 6’1 tall, of slim build with a southern accent. He had tattoos on one of his arms and earrings in both ears.

“We have been able to identify CCTV images of the suspect who we had hoped to identify by other means but as that has proved fruitless I am now asking for the public’s assistance.”

The CCTV image shows a man in his early 20s wearing light-coloured shoe, dark trousers and a light-coloured shirt.

DC Jones added: “If you think you know this man please contact us.”

Anyone with information on the assault, which happened late on September 26 2013 into the early hours of September 27, should telephone North Wales Police on 101. Alternatively, telephone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
