Llangefni burglars force pensioner to cashpoint

BURGLARS broke into a Llangefni home and attempted to force an elderly man to withdraw cash for them.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which saw burglars break entry at an address on Talwrn Road, Llangefni, at 4am last Saturday, March 1, before waking up the occupier and forcing him to drive them to a cashpoint at the Asda supermarket.

The pair attempted to force the man to withdraw money for them, but he managed to drive off and report the ordeal to the police.

Investigating officer DC Shona Campbell at Llangefni CID, said: “We are hoping to obtain a full description of the offenders in due course.

"Incidents of this nature are very rare in Anglesey and I'd like to reassure the community that all is being done to quickly identify and apprehend the offenders.

"If you witnessed this incident or have any information about who is responsible please contact Police on 101.

“It is worth reminding all house holders to be vigilant at all times, always ensure your property is locked and secured and if you see any suspicious behaviour contact the police immediately.”
