THE crowds turned out to celebrate the first Bethel Festival in 15 years.
Gwynedd councillor Sion Jones, also of Bethel Festival’s organising committee, hailed the event a success.
he said: “I have never seen such a response and turnout.
“I am so proud to be a part of the wonderful community we have in Bethel, we had people from all across the area, and what a fantastic day it was.”
There was a colourful parade through the village from Ysgol Gynradd Bethel to the festival field at Bethel Football Club.
The festival had circus acts, bouncy castles, stalls, face painting, refreshments and competitions judged by stars of S4C soap Rownd a Rownd.
There will also be music from Donna Hanks, Jonathan Davies, Atlas will Atone, Something Personal and Forever Kings.
Cllr Jones thanked the Bethel Festival Committee of Elen Foulkes, Cledwyn Jones, Steve Hughes, Ellen Robinson, Eleri Davies, Trefor Foulkes and Sion Williams for their efforts.
He added: “I have wondered for the last decade how things could be picked back up in our community, and how we could yet again be back on our feet in Bethel.
“We are there, and this is just the beginning - da iawn pawb, a diolch yn fawr iawn.”
