Police parking crack down in Valley

FEARS have been raised that illegal and inconsiderate parking in Valley could cause accidents.

North Wales Police have launched a crack down as pedestrians are forced off blocked pavements into the path of motorists who attempt to drive through parked vehicles.

PCSO Kelly Tatlock of Valley’s neighbourhood policing team said “Over the last weeks we have seen an increase of complaints from residents about inconsiderate and dangerous parking, particularly in the Gorad Road and Penrodyn Estate in Valley.

“Our main concern is that the parking may force the elderly or young onto the road and it’s their safety that is paramount.”

Vehicles are being parked on pavements, or close to junctions, which illegal.

PCSO Tatlock added: “As a neighbourhood policing team we had hoped to stop this practice by means of friendly advice most of which has been taken up but an inconsiderate few remain ignorant of their action and we may now have to take positive action and prosecutions may have to follow.”

The officer added that Valley Community Council were working closely with the police to resolve the problem.
