FORGET London, Dubai, Paris or New York – the best hotel in the world is right on your doorstep.
The Lauriston Court Hotel in Llandudno was named the best hotel in the world for service by travel site TripAdvisor as part of their 2013 Traveller’s Choice awards.
Owners Carol-Lynn and Ian Robbins were “thrilled” with the award.
Ian said: “Providing our guests with the best service possible is so important to us and so it’s heart-warming to be recognised by our guests for the work we do to make their stay special.”
TripAdvisor lets users rate travel destinations and experiences based on millions of customer reviews.
The site also revealed that Lauriston Court is the best hotel in the UK in the bargain category.
Carol-Lynn said: “We have done well in the value for money category and that shows that you don’t need to spend a fortune to have good service.
“We always continue to look to make things better, fresher and crisper. We will never be complacent because that’s when it’s time to give up, and we love what we do so much.
“Nothing is too much trouble for us; we don’t even consider things as ‘going the extra mile’ because that is just natural to us.”
“We also want to say a really big thank you to all our customers, especially to those who have given us such lovely reviews on the website, because without you, we wouldn’t have this award.”
As one of the largest holiday resorts in Wales, Llandudno is home to four of the six hotels found to be among the country’s best in categories including bargain, luxury, small hotel and best service.
The town is also identified by TripAdvisor as the tenth best holiday destination in the UK.
TripAdvisor spokesperson Emma Shaw said: “For the eleventh year running, these awards recognise the cream of the crop when it comes to hotels both in the UK and across the globe, according to those that really matter – travellers themselves.”
