POLICE have arrested a suspected drug dealer in Maesgeirchen after an ‘intelligence led operation.'

A 20 year old man from the area was arrested on suspicion of drugs supply after police conducted a search at an address in Llys Arthur, Maesgeirchen, Bangor during the morning of Friday, January 11.

The search warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act and Police seized a substance which they believe to be controlled drugs.

A forensic examination of the seized substance will determine exactly what it is and its purity.

North Wales Police Community Beat Manager for Maesgeirchen, PC Elwyn Williams said: "This was an intelligence led operation and conducted as part of our on-going effort to tackle the supply of controlled drugs."

The man was interviewed at a local police station, but has been released on bail to allow officers time to complete their investigation and analyse the seized substance.

PC Williams added:  "If anyone has any information about drug supply in the Maesgeirchen area, or indeed any illegal drugs use to contact North Wales Police on 101 or alternatively via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
