TOWNS ON Anglesey drew in bumper crowds to mark the start of the festive season.

Pupils from Ysgol Gynradd Amlwch helped get the celebrations underway by singing Christmas carols, as they were treated to a visit by Father Christmas.

The school choir were then joined by Carnival Queen Sophie Williams, Mayor Cllr Elizabeth Connelly and Father Christmas to officially switch the Christmas lights.

Elsewhere, the festive season kicked off in true Christmas spirit in Llangefni.

A fun fair and hot food stalls arrived at the Town Hall car park, as revellers travelled from all over the isalnd to be part of the celebration.

After Father Christmas arrived in his sleigh and Christmas carols were sung, the Christmas lights were swicthed on for another year by Mayor Cllr Dylan Rees, who was joined be members from the cast of S4C soap Rownd a Rownd.
