THE clean up effort after storms battered the region continues, with some roads and railways still affected.

Gwynedd Council teams are hard at work dealing with the effects of the recent high winds and torrential rain.

As of 2.30pm today (Tuesday, November 27), the A4086 at Nant Peris and the B4354 between Y Ffor and Boduan were closed.

Meanwhile, trains have been replaced by buses from Holyhead to Bangor until further noticed (2.55pm), due to flooding in Llanfairpwll. With the Met Office forecasting further bad weather, motorists have been urged to take extra care on the roads.

Gwynedd Council’s environment cabinet member, councillor Gareth Roberts said: “Icy conditions are now expected from tonight and for the next few days, and the council’s gritting teams have been placed on standby.

"Despite having our gritting teams ready, motorists are advised to check the weather reports before embarking on journeys especially at night.

Anyone who is suffering difficulties due to the weather can can call Gwynedd Council’s contact centre Galw Gwynedd on 01766 771000.
