PLANS to extend a slate quarry look set to be approved next week.
Bosses at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda are looking to extend the site by opening up new seems at the site.
If approved by Gwynedd Council, the plans wouldsafeguard more than 200 jobs at the site, extending its lifespan by more than 15 years.
The application is for the realignment and extension of the current workings to extract high quality roofing slates and other slate products.
The lifespan of the current operation is estimated at five to six years.
Officers have recommended the application for approval at the meeting on Monday.
