A TRULY unique cinematic experience will enthral film fans when it comes to Caernarfon.

The Paper Cinema’s version of the Odyssey will have its Welsh premiere at Galeri Caernarfon on Saturday, November 10.

Watch these wonderful Greek folk story come to life through hand-drawn marionettes, projected on to a white screen to create a unique, instant silent movie. A beautiful score is played live to compliment the action.

Steffan Thomas of Galeri eagerly awaited the chance to welcome the production to the region.

He said: “We have of course put on a range of events at Galeri since opening in 2005 including all art forms included in Paper Cinema’s Odyssey, but this will be the first at Galeri where live music, art, animation, puppetry and film are all combined in one 75 minute showcase.

Staged in a nautically-themed environment which encompasses the audience, The Paper Cinema’s interpretation of the classic myth about a man on a 10 year journey home sees Odysseus battling raging storms and supernatural forces.

The Paper Company’s previous work included Night Flyer & King Pest, and The Rock Charmer, which was projected onto a cliffside in Dorset.

Show time is 7.30pm. Tickets are £15 and £12 (concessions).
To book, call the Galeri Caernarfon box office 01286 685 222, or email www.galericaernarfon.com.
