MENAI Track and Field runner Sarah Livett produced a superb performance on international duty in last weekend’s prestigious Trophy of Venonni Mountain Running Championship in Italy.
The prodigious runner featured in the famed Vanoni Femmiline relay race, representing Wales along with team mate Rhianwedd Price, eventually coming through in sixth place with a combined time of 49 minutes and four seconds.
Livett’s leg of 24.26 was also the 14th fastest in the overall classification from a field of 98, which considering it being her first season in senior womens’ competition, bodes well for the future.
Sarah said: “It ranks up highly in my career so far. I ran better than I expected, and it’s definitely given me more confidence now.
“My stomach was doing sommersaults while I was waiting for my partner on the line, and I thought ‘now I have to go at that pace.”
Livett is back in action with Menai Track and Field this weekend in the McCain Cross-Challenge Series in Bristol.
