RESIDENTS in Llansadwrn are furious after going months without a post box in the village.
Royal Mail have not yet issued a replacement after workers from Welsh Water knocked over the village post box four months ago leaving locals without a basic means of posting letters.
Llansadwrn resident Aneurin Wyn Jones is particularly upset with the situation.
He said: "The postman comes to deliver letters but we can't send any away. Our post box has gone missing!
"The Royal Mail are painting post boxes gold in other parts of the country, but we haven't even got a red one here.
“We haven't even got a bus shelter in the village, and they've taken away our community centre.
"It's like the land that time forgot.”
Royal Mail has said contractors are in place to carry out the replacement work within the next few weeks.
However, Anglesey Councillor Eurfryn Davies feels the village has been waiting far too long.
He said: “This is ridiculous. I was told six weeks ago that contractors were going to start work, but there’s been no sign of them.
“So many people have been affected by this, not only the community in Llansadwrn, but also the many people who would use the post box as they pass through the village from Llanddona.”
