A MAN who caused stand off with police when he climbed onto a roof in Holyhead was due in court today (Friday, September 7).
The man, aged 22 and from the area, was due in Caernarfon Magistrates' Court charged with affray after he was spotted on the roof of NatWest on Stanley Street at around 4pm yesterday.
A North Wales Police spokesman said there had been an allegation of assault, and the man climbed had climbed onto the roof of a nearby flat..
The area was closed off for around an hour before police persuaded the man to come down, where he was arrested.
A businessman, who asked not to be named, said: "I saw him on the roof from my shop. They wouldn'tr let us out of the shop.
"I could hear him shouting but I couldn't hear what he was saying."
