Caffe Nero comes to Bangor

BANGOR High Street is set to receive a boost with two new shops coming to the Menai Centre.

Caffe Nero, an Italian-style coffee chain is due to open next month in unit one of the centre, while an application to bring another shop to units four and five remains in the planning stages.

Caffe Nero, who run over 500 shops nationwide, have announced an opening date on Monday October 8, and say that the recruitment process is already underway for seven jobs that will be created in the branch.

Managing director of Caffe Nero, Neil Riding said: “We’re very happy to be opening in Bangor. We feel we are contributing a little bit of investment into the area and creating a new amenity for the local community.”

Bangor city councillor Doug Madge: “It’s better seeing shops full than empty shops. It will fill the complex fill spaces and give Bangor a boost.

“When firms see more spaces being taken, they will want to come to Bangor. It can’t be a bad thing thing can’t it.”
