A MAN has been jailed for a robbery at an Anglesey shop.
Craig Andrew Gesty was sentenced to six years in prison at Caernarfon Crown Court for the robbery at the McColl’s store in Llanerchymedd on May 17.
Investigating officer DC Karen Pritchard-Williams welcomed the sentence.
She said: “It is important to send a strong message that those who take part in violent crimes will spend their futures in prison and crimes of this nature will not be tolerated by the local community or courts.
“Fortunately incidents of this nature are rare in North Wales and we are determined to ensure Ynys Mon remains a safe place”.
DC Pritchard-Williams thanked Llanerchymedd residents for their help during the investigation.
She added: “I would like to publically acknowledge the bravery and thank the key witnesses who despite their ordeal provided police with the evidence that was key in bringing this man to justice.“
