TWO brothers accused of breaking a 24-year-old man’s jaw when he was punched and stamped on were both jailed for two-and-a-half years yesterday.
Benjamin Morris, 23, of Hornesby Close, Connah’s Quay, and Christopher Morris, 21, of York Road, Connah’s Quay, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on Carl Wilson in April, 2010.
Judge Gareth Jones, sitting at Caernarfon Crown Court, told them they had caused a serious injury with two fractures of the jaw bone.
Mr Wilson had been “entirely defenceless” when he was stamped on.
John Hedgecoe, defending Benjamin Morris, said he had resigned from a job offered with Airbus and had shown remorse about the night-time attack in Connah’s Quay.
“That 15 seconds or so has devastated his life,” he said.
Paul Smith, defending Christopher Morris, said he had a responsible and good job for Airbus.
Jonathan Austin, prosecuting, said Mr Wilson had been leaning against a lamp-post when Christopher Morris went up and punched him.
He was unconscious for a short time. Three plates were fitted in his face under general anaesthetic.
Mr Austin said: “It took some time to bring the accused to book. They were not known to the parties involved."
