DINBYCH YOUTH 7
COBRA 30

TABLE-toppers COBRA lived up to their league position with a convincing win at Caeau Les Phillips.

Dinbych were forced to make several changes from the team that beat Rhyl, but 16-year-olds Elis Roberts and Ben Parry stepped into the breach.

COBRA kicked an early penalty and using their heavy forwards, the Mid Walians scored three tries in the first periodfor a convincing 20-0 interval lead.

Following some tactical changes at the break, which saw the return of Elis Edwards after a long injury lay-off, the young Dinbych team were back in the game after scrum half Morgan Williams dived over to score following a period of constant pressure on the line.

With stand off Huw Alexander adding the conversion, the game seemingly changed with Dinbych dominating and further good chances went begging after some poor handling.

COBRA completed the scoring in the final five minutes with two tries. There were several positives which should see Dinbych’s young side improve as the season progresses.
