IT'S LIGHTS, camera, action for three young filmmakers after they scooped two awards.
The three budding directors from Prestatyn picked up the awards at PICS Film Festival in Galeri Caernarfon which was held last Saturday.
Euan Miller, 11, won the Most Promising Filmmaker award for his animation, Y Dyn Eira (The Snowman) and walked off with £150.
The Bodnant Junior School pupil was also presented with a golden clapper board.
Prestatyn High School students Steven Moore and Oshan Bennett, both 13, picked up second prize in the Secondary School category along with £25 for their short chiller ‘Don’t look Back’.
The three of them work alongside other young filmmakers every Thursday at surgeries held in the Scala Cinema and Arts Centre and have even formed their own production company, and participate in projects supported by the National Theatre Wales.
Kevin Robert, who runs the creative surgery, said: “The awards are a fantastic achievement for the young students, they have worked tirelessly on this, and several other film projects over the course of a year.
“As a unit we strive to offer a unique environment where students can explore and utilise their creative and technical skills to the full.”
This new generation of Spielbergs have already been interviewed by S4C and are set to make their TV debut on Y Lle tomorrow at 8pm.
