RHYL GIRLBAND Pretty Girl Rock are looking forward to releasing their next single after their exit from a UK wide singing contest.

The group, made up of Charelle Evans, Carys Roberts and Stacey Marie Allen, were finalists in the Open Mic UK contest held in London over the weekend.

But lost out in the 17 to 22 year old age category to Brixton-born rapper Sham.

“It was amazing, and it’s just a hurdle that we’ve tripped at,” said Carys, who also revealed the girls were looking forward to the release of their single “It Aint Love Till It Hurts” in a few weeks.

“We wouldn’t have changed anything, they said we were a very polished act and put on a great performance.”

A 50-strong group of supporters backed the girls at the finals, and Carys thanked everyone who had voted to keep them in the competition, as well as Shelley Cropper of Inferno Dance Studio, Rhyl, for helping with the group’s choreography.

A video of Pretty Girl Rock’s 02 performance can be viewed at the group’s Facebook page, and a gallery of the girls’ big day can be seen on the Rhyl Journal website.
