TRIBUTES HAVE been paid to a Colwyn Bay man described as a "really nice guy" by his neighbours.

Ray Roberts, 63, of 51 Park Road, died of a heart condition at his Colwyn Bay home.

His body was found by North Wales Police at 5:33pm on Thursday January, 19, and his death was originally linked to to a small fire on Wednesday.

Police called North Wales Fire and Rescue Services, but after investigation, Mr Roberts' death was found not to have been fire-related.

Mr Roberts, known locally as a former refuse collector who had gone blind, was well-liked by his neighbours.

John Carnell, who lived next-door to Mr Roberts before moving further down Park Road, described him as a "really nice bloke".

He said: "He kept himself to himself, he rarely left the house, but on the occasion we did see him and speak to him, he was very nice."

North Wales Central acting coroner John Gittins said an inquest was not required into Mr Robert's death, which was not suspicious.
