A SUPERMARKET giant is introducing a new car parking system in a bid to free up spaces for its customers.

Asda, on Conwy Road, Llandudno, is to increase its maximum stay parking allowance from two to three hours and employ an automated number plate recognition system.

Store manager Nigel Roberts said although signage hadn’t changed to reflect the new regulations, car park attendants had already been instructed to follow the new maximum stay rules.

A spokeswoman for Asda said: “We know parking at Llandudno is tight - and while we welcome customers popping into town while parking in our carpark, we need to make sure other customers can find a space when they need it.”
