Two killed in Llanrug crash

TWO young women have been killed in a Gwynedd village when a car collided with a wall on New Year's Day.

The crash, in the village of Llanrug, happened around 6am this morning.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa car was travelling on the Llanberis to Caernarfon road when it collided with a wall near the Glyn Twrog pub.

The driver and passenger, both from Gwynedd, died at the scene.

North Wales Police are investigating the cause of the crash and have appealed for anyone with information to contact 0300 3300101.
