BANGOR CITY’s last hurrah at Farrar Road is approaching and boss Nev Powell hopes his side give the fans an occasion to savour.

The Citizens face sixth-placed Prestatyn Town on Tuesday but Powell will make sure his players’ minds are on the task at hand.

“We’ll be professional. First and foremost, we’ve got to concentrate on getting three points,” he said.

City are breathing down the necks of leaders Llanelli, with just one point separating the sides, and the defending champions will be eager to notch up another three points ahead of the super six split.

City recorded an impressive away win against Port Talbot Town, despite Mike Edwards’ 17th minute sending off.

City took a 2-0 with through Les Davies on 29 minutes and Kyle Wilson a minute later.

Martin Rose pulled one back for Town shortly afterwards, but the Citizens held on for the win.

Edwards will be suspended for the Prestatyn match, and Neil Thomas will be suspended after picking up five yellow cards.

Town are in good form with former Shrewsbury Town striker Ross Stephens, who has hit five goals in the last four games.

“Prestatyn are always a tough one, and there will be a full house at Farrar Road. It should be a great occasion,” Powell added.

The game will have added significance for Powell, a star midfielder for the club in the 1980s and 90s.

“I’ve has some great times at Farrar Road, and I’ve been privileged enough to play there for so many years and manage there.

“It will be sad to leave but we’re moving to an excellent ground, and we’re leaving as league champions, which is everything to me.”

Bangor City v Prestatyn Town is on S4C’s Sgorio show from 2pm.
