Rogues gallery of images on the net

NORTH WALES Police are appealing for the public’s help with unsolved crimes following the launch of an online rogue’s gallery.

The authority launched its new Caught on Camera initiative last week, which will feature CCTV images of unidentified individuals who police want to talk to in relation to crimes from across the North Wales Coast.

Acting Deputy Chief Constable Gareth Pritchard said the new service, which has been added to the North Wales Police website, will provide a useful tool in solving crimes.

“I want to reduce and detect crime by asking the public to take a look at these CCTV images,” he said. “It’s like a local crime watch. Getting an identity is just one step in solving a crime. When we get an identity, we’ll be able to take things on.”

“I want to show the public that we are doing everything we can to find these people’s identity.”

Recent unsolved cases with pictures of sufficient quality will be considered for the gallery, as well as incidents that remain unsolved by the police’s internal investigations.

Each image will be put online for a 14 day period, with the initial selection of images including a man wanted in connection with a robbery at the Apollo Bingo Hall in Rhyl.
