MORE than 30 firefighters tackled a huge barn blaze at a farm near Montgomery on Thursday night.
A single-storey steel building, about 30 metres by 20 metres in size, caught fire at 5.17pm on Thursday, December 15.
The barn at Longlands Farm in Hendomen contained about 250 square bales of Hay.
Four fire engines attended the scene, two from Welshpool and one each from Montgomery and Newtown.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said asbestos was present in the roof of the barn.
This is the third huge fire to be tackled by local firefighters in the past month following farm blazes at Stockton Farm near Marton on November 11 and at Cil Pentre Farm in Berriew on November 30.
One crew is still present at the scene today (Friday, December 16) damping down the site.
