AN elderly couple have been found dead at their home on Anglesey.

Ralph Hay, aged 67, and his wife Patricia, aged 74, were found by police and paramedics at their property on Pentrefelin in Amlwch.

North Wales Police were called to the property on Saturday morning after their bodies were found by a friend.

It is understood that Mr Hay had been suffering from health problems and had returned from hospital shortly before his death.

A North Wales Police spokesman said the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

Almwch port councillor Dylan Jones said the community was shocked by the news.

“They were a very quite couple who kept themselves to themselves,” he said.

“We’re a close knit community in Amlwch so it’s very sad when something like this happens in the locality.”

Post mortem examinations have been carried out and results are being awaited.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned by the North West Wales coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones.

This is now expected to take place next year.
