AN APPEAL has been launched to help the family of tragic Emma Louise Jones with her funeral costs.
Emma Louise Jones, 31, of Trem yr Wyddfa in Penygroes, died at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor after she was stabbed in an incident early on Saturday morning.
Friends Carwyn Elis Davies and Lynsey Edwards said that any money left over will go to Emma’s son Llyr.
Steven Whitten, who runs a computer business in Penygroes, has collected £535 so far in online donations.
“She had a lovely personality, was a funny and loving lady. I’m devastated by what’s happened, and I can’t believe something like that happened in Penygroes.
“Since I set up the donations page, we’ve have loads of people giving generous amounts into the pot,” he said.
Steven thanked the various shops and market stall holders in Penygroes, Bangor, Caernarfon and Pwllheli who are collecting for the fund.
“Everyone’s been working together,” he said.
The woman charged with Emma’s murder, Alwen Eluned Jones, 23, of Gerlan in Llanllyfni, was remanded in custody at a preliminary hearing at Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday, December 14).
She will next appear in court on February 10.
